The Lakehouse

OK. I have got to talk to someone about this film. Has anyone out there seen The Lakehouse...starring (oh yeah!) Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock??!! I watched it the other night and I'm just flabbergasted!! I can't get my head round it...at all!!

Here's the plot...

A lonely doctor (Bullock) who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its former resident, a frustrated architect (Reeves). They must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it's too late.

Note former resident...yes Bullock living in 2004 gets letters from Reeves living in 2002...anyway...I don't want to say too much as will give away the story! But it's weird! I don't understand...I mean you still see the two of them together in 2002...but they seem to exist at different times??!! It's crazy!!

Here is a review(s) of the film...

I saw a screening of this last night and maybe I was just in the right mood for it, but I really enjoyed it. I'm not even a chick-flick kind of girl! It's best if you don't over-analyze the time-travel details and just go with it... it's a movie, after all. Seriously, I wasn't expecting that much and I got a better feeling from this movie than I have in a long time - it made me feel warm and happy. Plus, the whole theater laughed at some parts, plus people gasped and cried, and at the end everyone applauded. That's a good sign, if you ask me. I don't watch previews so I don't know what they give away about the plot, so I'm not going to give much of anything away here. I will just say that to me this was a uniquely told romantic story. I happen to like Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, although they are by no means favorites of mine, nor do I consider them to be consistently amazing actors (more often they're not... at least he's not...). But they made this story work for me and I believe they have good chemistry.

Maybe I should just go to it? I mean my family seem to love it...annd after all it is just a film...and I'm not normally one to ponder on how unrealistic the film is...but it just doesn't work!!

I have found someone who shares the same opinion as me...it is in fact their blog that inspired me to write this post...it's just praying on my mind!!

I thought you would have loved the film of all people.
The story isn't linear, in that it doesn't start from one point in time and follows to the next. There are two timelines, and each timeline tells the story of two people. So effectively there are four story lines to follow.

:-O...what a reputation I have!! I get the 'effectively 4 storylines' bit...I just don't understand how they can be interlinked?? :-S
